We've reviewed the official status again and nothing has changed: application calls have remained closed since October 31, 2025, and Red.es hasn't published any new call or opening date. Order TDF/39/2026 keeps the program in force until the funds run out, with no calendar deadline.

Three facts, three sources. Application calls are closed, no new call has been published, and the Order TDF/39/2026 extends the program until the funds run out. Anything else you read — "confirmed" dates, "limited" spots, countdown timers — isn't in the BOE or on Red.es.
Calls are closed
All five application calls have reached the end of their deadline. The last two — Segment III and communities of property — closed on October 31, 2025, according to Red.es.
No new call published
Red.es hasn't published a new Kit Digital call or announced an opening date. If a website gives you a specific day, they're making it up.
The program is still alive
Order TDF/39/2026 (BOE, January 28, 2026) keeps the governing rules in force until the funds run out and requires unspent budget to be reinvested back into the program itself.

This is the complete list of the program's calls with their official closing dates. There are no open calls: the October 31, 2025 deadline was the last one in the cycle that started in 2022.

Order TDF/39/2026, explained in plain English.
On January 28, 2026 the BOE published Order TDF/39/2026, of January 26 (BOE-A-2026-2070). It's the regulation behind this year's extension of the program, and also the most misunderstood one: it isn't a call for applications, it's an amendment to the governing rules. It tweaks three articles of Order ETD/1498/2021 and fixes three structural problems in the program.
In force until the funds run out
The governing rules stay in force for grants called "until the total exhaustion of the Kit Digital Program's funds." In plain terms: Kit Digital no longer has a closing date; with no new deadlines published, its limit is budgetary, not calendar-based.
Mandatory reinvestment of leftover funds
Red.es must reinvest any unspent budget — "even after 2026" — into actions under the program itself, within Investment 3 of Component 13 of the Recovery Plan. Money that's left over isn't lost: it's recycled back into Kit Digital.
Reallocating funds to rejected applications
If unassigned funds remain after a call is resolved, the instructing body "shall formulate" — it's mandatory, not discretionary — new grant proposals in favor of applications rejected due to exhausted funding. We cover this in detail below.
What the order does NOT do
It doesn't open an application window, doesn't set dates, doesn't publish new amounts, and doesn't create the 2026 call: its transitional provision simply applies the changes to calls already in force. You'll also see headlines about a "Kit Digital 2.0": that's a media label, not an official term — the BOE refers to the same program with updated rules.

These amended governing rules are the fifth revision since 2021, after ETD/734/2022 (advanced online presence and marketplace), ETD/739/2023 (communities of property), TDF/435/2024 (medium-sized companies, AI-enabled solutions, and secure workstation), and TDF/240/2025 (secure-workstation hardware requirements). The pattern: the program has widened with each cycle, never narrowed.
When does Kit Digital 2026 reopen? What's known and what isn't.
Is Kit Digital coming back? Everything points to the program continuing — the rules allow it, and the reinvestment mandate pushes for it — but only Red.es knows the date of the next call for SMEs and the self-employed.
What we know (with a source)
- The rules are ready. Order TDF/39/2026 leaves the legal framework set for "the publication of new calls under these Governing Rules," according to its own preamble.
- There's a mandate to spend. The budget must be committed, and any leftover funds reinvested in the program. A program required to execute its funding needs calls for applications to do so.
- Europe is setting the pace. The Communication "NextGenerationEU – The road to 2026" (COM(2025) 310 final, 4 June 2025), cited in the order, treats execution as achieved in August 2026 if the grants have been resolved and awarded by then; the actual delivery can come later. That's real calendar pressure, not an opening date.
What's NOT known (and nobody knows)
- The opening date. No day, week, or month has been announced in any official source.
- Which segments will be included. The next call will define who it's aimed at; previous ones opened in stages by company size.
- The applicable amounts and catalog. Current figures are the best reference, but each call sets its own conditions when it's published.

The three signals to watch (the same ones we watch)
- Red.es electronic office. Every real call appears here, with its summary and deadline. It's the primary source.
- Acelera pyme. The program's official portal publishes news for beneficiaries and hosts the digital maturity self-assessment test.
- The BOE. Governing-rules orders and call summaries are published in Spain's Official State Gazette, just like TDF/39/2026 itself. No BOE publication means no call, no matter what any headline says.

NextGenerationEU funding: budget, leftover funds, and the "exhausted" myth.
"Kit Digital is exhausted," "Kit Digital has no funds left": that's only half true. What ran out were the deadlines for the calls — and, in some cases, their specific budget — not the program.
A €3.067 billion budget
Kit Digital is funded through NextGenerationEU: it's Investment 3 of Component 13 of the Recovery Plan, endowed with €3.067 billion (€3,067,000,000). On top of that initial €3.067 billion, the program later added the medium-sized companies call (€350 million, expandable) and reinforcement of Segment III. Order TDF/39/2026 also requires this funding to be committed in line with Milestone CID 208 of the Plan.
No closing date: until the funds run out
Since January 2026, the program's time frame is no longer a specific year but "the total exhaustion of the funds." And unspent leftover money — grants awarded but not spent, rejected applications, funds never requested — must be reinvested within Kit Digital itself, even after 2026. Those leftover funds are the raw material for the next call and for reallocating funds to applications rejected for lack of funding.
2026 segments and amounts, at a glance.
The voucher ranges from €3,000 to €29,000 depending on your segment (I-V), defined by your company's headcount in annual work units (AWU). Work out yours with the Kit Digital calculator. How to get ready today (and why it's worth it).
We saw it happen again and again in the 2024 and 2025 calls: whoever had their file ready applied on day one; whoever started "once it opened" lost weeks on certificates and decisions. Getting ready doesn't cost anything. Here's the right order to do it in.

Gather your documentation
Certificates showing you're up to date with the Tax Agency and Social Security (valid for six months), a working digital certificate, and your segment calculated by AWU based on the last closed financial year. A wrongly declared segment delays your file by one or two months.

What's new in the catalog: artificial intelligence and secure workstation.
Artificial intelligence in the Kit Digital catalog isn't a future promise: it arrived with Order TDF/435/2024, which added AI-enabled solutions and the secure workstation category. These are the grants an SME can use to implement artificial intelligence and renew its equipment with the voucher once the application window reopens.

Rejected applicants and the waiting list: a second chance.
Many applications were rejected because their call ran out of funding, not because they failed to meet the requirements. For those, a rejected Kit Digital application has a second chance in 2026, and this time with legal backing: the new Article 28.8 of the governing rules.
What the rule says (and what it means)
Once a call is resolved, if there are unassigned funds left, "the instructing body shall formulate new final award proposals in favor of those applicants whose applications could not be approved due to funding exhausted in that call at the time of processing." (Quotations from the Order are our translation of the Spanish original, BOE-A-2026-2070.) Three practical consequences:
- It's mandatory: Red.es must do this whenever applicable funds exist — it isn't discretionary.
- It happens automatically: you don't need to reapply; the fund reallocation applies to your original file.
- It applies now: the transitional provision extends the change to calls already in force when the order took effect (January 29, 2026).
What we do NOT promise you
There's no published timeline for these reallocations, and no individual guarantee of approval: it depends on applicable funds actually existing. Be wary of anyone who "guarantees" you the voucher or charges you to speed up a waiting list that only Red.es manages.
Two important caveats. If your rejection was for another reason — documentation, requirements, deadline — your path is the next call: first check the mistakes that most often sink a voucher. And if you were already a beneficiary and didn't use up your full amount, this reallocation isn't for you — what applies to you is the Kit Digital second voucher, which works under its own rules.

Kit Digital 2026: will there be a new call?
No new call has been published as of today. Order TDF/39/2026 keeps the governing rules in force until the funds run out and requires unspent budget to be reinvested; the decision and date for a new call are up to Red.es. When there is one, it'll be published in the BOE and on Red.es's electronic office, and we'll update this page the same day.
Kit Digital 2026: is it back?
Not yet. The program hasn't disappeared — Order TDF/39/2026 extends it until its funds are fully exhausted — but the calls for submitting applications have been closed since October 31, 2025, when the deadline for the last two expired. It will "come back" when Red.es publishes a new call, which as of July 13, 2026 hasn't happened and has no announced date.
Kit Digital 2026: can I apply right now?
Not right now: there's no open application window. What you can do is get your file ready — valid tax certificates, your segment calculated by AWU, solutions chosen, and a Digitalization Agent decided — so you can apply on day one if a new call opens.
Is Kit Digital still active in 2026?
Yes, as a program. The governing rules remain in force under Order TDF/39/2026, awarded grants continue to be carried out and justified, and Red.es must reinvest unspent budget within Kit Digital itself. What's not active is the application window: all five calls have closed, and the next one is pending publication.
Are there funds available for Kit Digital in 2026?

Can I apply for Kit Digital if I already received it before?
It depends on your case. If you were a beneficiary and didn't use up your segment's ceiling, the second voucher lets you contract new solutions up to that limit. If you used the full amount, you'd need a future call to include new grants for past beneficiaries, which isn't published today. We'll clarify your specific case, no obligation.
Order TDF/39/2026: what's changing, and what does it mean for your business?
It changes three articles of the governing rules: the program stays in force until the funds run out (Article 4), unspent budget must be reinvested within Kit Digital itself (Article 6.3), and applications rejected for lack of funding must receive new grant proposals when funds become available (Article 28.8). For your business: the program is still alive, and it's worth having your application ready. It doesn't set deadlines or open a call.
A free computer with Kit Digital?
Important caveat: it's not "free," it's subsidized. The secure workstation category, available for Segment III, lets you fund a hardware device together with security services through the voucher, with associated maintenance obligations and a minimum commitment period. What technical requirements must the secure workstation computer meet?
They're set by Red.es in the program's governing rules and their updates: Order TDF/240/2025 revised the minimum processor and performance requirements for the device to keep pace with technology. What specifications should a laptop have for the secure workstation category?
The same as any device in the category: the minimum processor and performance specifications published by Red.es, revised by Order TDF/240/2025. What about Kit Consulting? Is it still open in 2026?
Kit Consulting is a separate program: its application window closed on March 31, 2025, and there's no new call. Order TDF/38/2026 (BOE, January 28, 2026) updated its governing rules in parallel with Kit Digital's, which leaves the door open to a future edition, still with no date or conditions published. The program's status, straight from the regulation
- Kit Digital has not been shut down. The Order TDF/39/2026, of January 26 (BOE No. 25, of January 28, 2026), which amends Order ETD/1498/2021, establishes that the governing rules apply to grants called from the date it takes effectand until the funds are fully exhausted: it sets no application deadline.
- Leftover funds get reinvested. Its Article 6.3 provides that Red.es must reinvest any unspent budget surplus, even after 2026, back into the Kit Digital Program itself.
- If you were left out due to exhausted funding, you can get back in. Article 28.8 requires the instructing body to issue new final award proposals (propuestas de resolución definitivas) in favor of applicants whose applications couldn't be approved because the available funding ran out — although no application call is currently open.
